Commissioning for building security systems

The drawings are
the checklist.

Every camera, detector and card reader sits on its floor plan, with its checks, notes, photos and open problems. Your whole team works on the same project, on phones on site and PCs in the office.

The same floor on a phone, zoomed in: detectors with their numbers and the problem spot at reception

The plan

Green is done.
Red needs work.

Each device shows its state where it is mounted. The bar above the plan counts the floor, the list beside it counts the building, so nobody has to ask how far along you are.

Not checked In progress OK NOK
A floor on a phone: green checks for devices that passed, a red cross for one that failed
The floor's count: OK 15, NOK 1, open 1 of 17, and one open problem spot

Checklists

Every device has its own checklist.

Mounted, wired, labelled, tested. Each check is OK or NOK, with a note where it needs one. The device page also carries its data from the drawing, its photos and any problem spot next to it.

Fire detector 001/02: its address, zone, room, model and serial number; the problem spot near it; the check 'Mounted in the correct place' is NOK with the note 'Detector head missing - ordered, arrives Monday'

Problems

A problem stays where it was found.

Pin it on the plan, say what is wrong, add a photo and name who fixes it: your team or a subcontractor. It stays on the drawing until somebody marks it solved.

A problem spot by reception: ceiling tile missing above the detector

Priorities

Say what comes first.

Draw an area on the plan and give it a priority, with the reason. The crew sees it on the plan, and the Excel report lists it for every device inside.

Team

The whole team, on the same project.

Every phone and PC sends its work to the Allsafe server and gets everyone else's back, every few minutes while it is online. A check done on the third floor shows in the office a moment later.

Tasks go to people, answers come back.

Give a task to a person or a whole team, with a deadline. When it is done, whoever gave it gets a notification with the note, and the task has its own PDF report.

Notifications: a new task from Jelena Petrović, and 'Task done: Fit the detector head at reception' from Marko Jovanović with his note
Tasks: for me, given by me, all tasks - an open task with its deadline

Saved on the device first

Every check, note and photo is stored on the phone or PC before it is sent, and kept until the server confirms it.

A key for every device

Each phone and PC has its own key. An administrator sees every device and can block a lost one.

Your company only

Each company's work is kept apart on the server. Nobody else can read it.

Backed up every night

The server makes a full copy of the work each night. Nothing is deleted because a plan ends.

On site

No signal in the basement? Keep working.

The app does not wait for a connection. Work done offline goes to the server when the signal is back, and the phone shows what has not been sent yet.

Access control doors on a phone: readers, exit buttons and the controller, all checked

Progress

Progress you can show the client.

Per system, per building and per phase: done, NOK, in progress, not checked, and the open problem spots. The same numbers go into the reports.

Statistics per system: access control 100%, fire alarm 87%, intrusion detection 72%, each with done, NOK, in progress, not checked and open problem spots

Reports

A PDF for the client. Excel for the office.

Made by the app from the work itself: every device, every check and every note, per system, per building or for the whole site.

PDF report: fire alarm testing and commissioning, 87% OK, with a chart of OK, fault, not installed and not checked
Commissioning report, PDF
PDF report: global progress of the whole site, with bars per system and phase
Progress report, PDF
Excel report: every check of every device, with its result and note

Excel: every check of every device, with its result and note

Systems

One app for every system in the building.

Each system has its own devices and checks, on the same plans and in the same project.

CCTV: cameras of the ground floor with their cabling state
CCTV - cabling, then the cameras
Access control: doors, readers and the controller
Access control - door by door
Intrusion detection: detectors and the panel on the plan
Intrusion detection - detectors and panels

Photos and video

On the device or the problem, taken in the app. A failed check asks for an "after" photo when it is fixed.

People and rights

Administrators, managers, your crews and subcontractors who see only their buildings.

Two languages

English and Serbian. Notes written in one show translated in the reports.

PC and phone

Windows in the office, Android on site. Same project, shared as you work.

A new project

Start from the drawings you already have.

Allsafe reads the devices straight from the CAD drawings.

Drawings in

The DWG or DXF floor plans you already have.

Rules in Excel

Which drawing is which floor, and how each device block is read.

Devices on the plans

Every block becomes a device with its checklist, ready for the crew.

See it on a project like yours.
